Storyline
: Main article: Storyline
The supernatural always existed in the world of Deadlock, but only when an eclipse triggered an event known as the Maelstrom near the end of the 19th century, which opened Astral Gates across the Earth, did the world at large accept it wasn’t just myth.
Now, 50 years later, two Patrons, the Hidden King and the Archmother, are trying to enter this plane, promising to fulfill the wish of anyone that helps them by completing the ritual. The ritual includes two teams fighting each other in a battle in the streets of the Cursed Apple, trying to prevent the other team from summoning their
patron.
Groups
There are various organizations featured in Deadlock:

Haze. - The Baxter Society – An organization of monster hunters whose members include
Shiv, and formerly
Grey Talon and
Calico. - The Tunnel Rats – A staple of New York’s criminal underground that counts
Mo & Krill as enforcers and smugglers. - The New York Oracle – Bringing the latest news and occult discoveries to the citizens of New York.
- Fairfax Industries – A powerful company spearheading the occult industrial complex that employs

Visual novels
Main article: The Library
Visual novels are planned to be the main narrative medium to expand the world of Deadlock.
- The Binding of Oathkeeper, starring
Lady Geist, shows the ward binding Oathkeeper weakening, forcing
Lady Geist to find a way to stop Oathkeeper from breaking free and killing her. - Ivy’s visual novel follows
Ivy trying to find a new purpose in life after dismantling the Mendoza Syndicate. - Holliday’s visual novel follows
Holliday on her revenge-fuelled quest to take down the Troubadour.
Infernus and
Kelvin are also planned to have visual novels according to notes from The Binding of Oathkeeper, with the first chapter of
Infernus’ novel referenced in the game files, but neither had further development thus far. References to a
Mina visual novel were also datamined after the Old Gods, New Blood update.

The wiki's storyline describes the Maelstrom as an event that brought widespread recognition of the supernatural and opened Astral Gates. In its account, the Hidden King and the Archmother are rival Patrons seeking entry to the mortal plane, with teams working to complete their respective rituals. The Cursed Apple is the setting for the conflict.
This is a summary of the wiki's story, not a claim that every detail is complete. Follow the Storyline and
Patron entries to distinguish the documented material from interpretation.
Characters and organizations
The index links hero backstories with the groups around them. It describes the Occult Security and Investigation Commission as a secretive government organization associated with
Haze; the Baxter Society as monster hunters connected with
Shiv,
Grey Talon and
Calico; and the
Tunnel Rats as an underground network associated with
Mo & Krill. Other entries include the
Paradox Organisation, the Seventh Moon and the Municipal Coven.
A character entry is useful for an individual biography; an organization entry helps trace relationships across several stories. The New York Oracle is an in-universe publication represented in the index, not a real-world news source.
Places, objects and stories
Browse locations such as the Black Château, Blackmore Academy, the Deep and the
Paradox Museum alongside entries about Astral Gates and the Outer Planes. The index also includes artifacts, minor characters and individual visual novels. The Binding of Oathkeeper and the listed
Holliday,
Infernus and
Ivy visual novel pages are marked as unfinished or unavailable content, so treat them in that context.
How to explore
