The Bear Pit is an underground arena of blood sport in New York where spectators can bet on prize fights.

Summary

Known fighters include Lash and Bebop, who are rivals. Lash calls himself a "champion" of the Bear Pit.[1]

Lash has lost to Bebop in the Bear Pit once,[2] while Bebop lost to Lash at least once afterwards.[3][4]

Wraith and Mo & Krill Krill are prominent gamblers in matches, who are both known to often bet money on Bebop.[2][5] Once, Mendoza told Wraith that Lash was going to "take a dive" in a Bear Pit fight, which Lash proceeded to win, causing Wraith to lose "a lot of money".[6]

Bebop is fighting in the Bear Pit to earn money for Ms. Shelly‘s medicine.[7][8] He intends to retire once he completes the Ritual and gets his wish.[5]

Celeste Celeste‘s friend Blockhead Lenny once fought in the Bear Pit, but lost to Lash.[9]

Fights in the Bear Pit seem to allow the use of magic.[10]

  • In Neon Prime, Kali was a former champion of the pit who came out of retirement, only to lose to Bebop. Kali sustained injuries severe enough to send him into an almost 2-decade hiatus afterwards.[11]
