How to Play Deadlock: Your First Match In a standard Deadlock match, your team wins by destroying the enemy Patron. Start in your lane, help your troopers advance, collect souls, spend them on items, and work with teammates to break the defenses protecting the enemy base. Defend your own Patron along the way. Your first match can feel busy because shooting, abilities […] Souls in Deadlock: How to Earn More and Keep Up To keep up in souls, collect lane rewards consistently, secure the flying orbs you can reach safely, and use the gaps between waves for other opportunities. Spend available souls on useful items before a dangerous fight, and avoid farming so far from your team that you miss a defense or lose your income to a […] Deadlock Laning Guide: What to Do in the Opening Minutes In Deadlock’s opening lane, your job is to collect trooper rewards, stay healthy enough to keep participating, spend souls on useful items, and protect your side while looking for safe pressure on the enemy Guardian. You can make progress without forcing an early hero kill. Think in short cycles: check your position, help with the […] Deadlock Movement Guide: Essential Techniques and Practice Good movement starts with a destination: dash toward cover, climb to a useful position, or use a zipline to reach your next task. Practice each input on its own before combining them, and keep enough stamina to react if a fight starts. Use the practice area, Sandbox or an empty-map mode to try the drills […] Deadlock Objectives: What to Attack and Why To win a standard Deadlock match, your team must destroy the enemy Patron while protecting its own. When choosing what to do, start […] How to Choose Your First Deadlock Hero Choose a first Deadlock hero whose weapon and abilities you enjoy using, then test whether you can aim, move and contribute without feeling overwhelmed. Beginner Guides

Start with the systems you will encounter in your first match: lanes, souls, movement and objectives. These guides explain what to look for and how one decision affects the next.

A useful reading order

Begin with the first-match guide to understand the goal and the path through the enemy defenses. The souls guide covers collecting rewards and spending them; the laning guide connects those resources to staying healthy and protecting your side. Move on to movement, objectives and choosing a first hero as those questions arise.

Practice one decision at a time

Focus on collecting lane rewards safely, checking your position, and spending available souls before a consequential fight. You do not have to force a hero kill to make progress in lane. When you are ready to look beyond the opening, the map and objectives guides describe routes and team objectives, while item guides explain the shop.
