What is the objective?

In Standard, teams attack enemy structures and ultimately their Patron. The Patron has stages; destroying its first stage also grants the defending team a one-time reduction to respawn timers of heroes already dead. Base Guardians must be destroyed in a pair before Shrines can be damaged.

What are souls and boons?

Souls fund items and count toward level rewards. Every level grants a boon that increases hero-specific base attributes. Ability unlocks occur at levels 0, 2, 4 and 7; the ultimate becomes available at 3,800 souls. Haunted Souls can be lost, but a level already earned remains unlocked.

How do I open more item slots?

Three Extra Slots unlock after destroying one, two and three enemy Walkers respectively. They are also called Flex Slots.

Why does an objective take little damage?

Backdoor Protection grants resistance and regeneration when the required lane pressure is absent. A nearby enemy trooper wave removes it; a zipline pushed into the base removes it from base structures. A 14-second buffer follows removal before it can return. Other defenses can stack with it, and Shrines are invulnerable until a Base Guardian pair falls.

How do weapon and pure damage differ?

Weapon damage includes bullets and melee, although specific bullet-triggered effects do not always apply to melee. Bullet Resist reduces weapon damage; melee can also be affected by Melee Resist. Pure damage is a separate type that bypasses ordinary damage resistance. An execute kills a qualifying target through barriers and damage reduction.

Does silence stop an ability already being cast?

No. Silence prevents new ability activations but does not interrupt an ongoing cast or channel. Stun does interrupt. Sleep does not interrupt channels and ends when the sleeper takes damage.

What happens on death?

Unsecured souls drop for pickup, the hero waits through a respawn timer and returns to base. Respawn times generally rise with match time. The player can browse the shop, spectate, ping and chat while dead.

What does the Rejuvenator crystal do?

The October 30, 2026 update changed the Midboss drop to three crystals around the pit. Each breaks in one heavy melee and grants one revive token. Earlier wiki descriptions refer to one crystal containing three tokens. A token is consumed on its holder’s death; after all are consumed, the team loses the Midboss buff. A token death can trigger on-hero-kill effects even though it grants no souls and does not register as a HUD kill.

Can I practice with bots or use console commands?

Bot Match supports Standard and Street Brawl with easy, medium and hard bots in online co-op and single-player custom games. Not every hero has bot support. Enable the developer console in settings and use F7; cheat-restricted commands require a cheat-enabled custom lobby and do not work in normal multiplayer.

What is different about Street Brawl?

The cited Haunt source says camps do not spawn there because the mode uses item drafts and set boons per round. Backdoor Protection also applies to Lane Guardians in Street Brawl, unlike the standard rule described by the protection source. Consult the mode’s current rules for its complete round structure.
