Ziplines, also called transit lines or hyperlines, carry heroes over long distances from each base along the three lanes. Their reach depends on the team’s Trooper push. The lanes are York (yellow), Broadway (blue) and Greenwich (green); characters may use either names or colors.

Riding and boosts

Travel speed is fixed at 18 m/s on the inner lane and 21 m/s on the outer lanes, regardless of hero speed. Riding refreshes an air dash and double jump. Pressing down (Ctrl by default) dismounts while retaining momentum for two seconds. Players begin a match on their assigned lane’s line; switching lanes moves them to its line. A halo highlights their starting line at base.

Zipline Speed Boost (F by default) provides +80% speed for 32 seconds, unlocks six minutes into the match and has a 360-second cooldown. Destroying a Base Guardian permanently gives the corresponding line the same 80% boost as an Express Line. The Movement Powerup adds 40–80% zipline speed, scaling with match time, to both normal and boosted travel.

Combat

Enemy hero or enemy objective damage prevents attachment for three seconds, including damage from player-created external sources such as McGinnis’s Mini Turret or a Trooper affected by Rem’s Lil Helpers. Neutral objectives such as Denizens and Sinner’s Sacrifice, and enemy Troopers including Rift Troopers, do not impose the lockout.

Enemy hero damage while attaching or riding knocks the rider straight down, deals 15% maximum health as Hyperline damage reducible by Spirit Resist, and stuns for 2.5 seconds beginning on landing. After three consecutive seconds riding, blue particles indicate immunity to knockoff; damage received during immunity adds Hyperline damage equal to 53.6% of the original damage, reducible by Spirit Resist. Some damage-over-time effects do not knock riders off after their initial hit, including Shiv’s Serrated Knives, Mirage’s Djinn’s Mark and Infernus’s Afterburn.

Names and map history

The lines were called hyperlines in Neon Prime and shadowlines in Shadowline; Deadlock’s official term is transit lines, although older terms persist in interface and voice lines. Before September 29, 2026, the incoming-damage display called both rider bonus damage and knockoff damage Hyperline. Before February 25, 2025, a fourth lane, purple Park, existed. Greenwich was temporarily Park Ave after purple’s removal and was previously orange Orchard. Lane names refer to New York City streets; the bases were once named after Grand Central and Penn stations. The blue line accelerates in base to cover its extra distance over the Patron.
