Dynamo helps his team stay together through
healing and repositioning, then creates an opening with a knockup or
Singularity. Before committing, identify which ally can follow your control and which enemy is still free to interfere. A well-timed save or a single useful target can matter more than a large pull your team cannot reach.
Use the hero database and community builds to check current details. Ability and item descriptions below use the community-maintained game asset snapshot captured October 28, 2026, and dated Valve updates. This is not a live-client test; check the current in-game descriptions.
Abilities and upgrade priorities
The asset snapshot assigns these four standard
abilities to
Dynamo:
Kinetic Pulse sends a ground-traveling pulse that deals
spirit damage and knocks enemies up. The first upgrade adds a charge; the next applies bullet-resistance reduction and a
movement slow on hit; the final tier adds
damage and range. Use the knockup to help a teammate shoot or to interrupt an approaching enemy, while accounting for its ground path and reach.
Quantum Entanglement briefly makes
Dynamo untargetable as he teleports to a selected location and restores
stamina. Its alternate cast brings nearby allies along; a normal self-cast should not be treated as an automatic team rescue. The community wiki describes the alternate cast and ally range. Upgrades extend cast range, reduce cooldown and, at the final tier, reduce non-ultimate debuffs and replenish a charge. Valve’s May 22 update changed the final tier from a dispel to duration reduction; do not promise a complete cleanse.
Rejuvenating Aurora heals
Dynamo and nearby allies over time while channeling. He can
dash and melee without breaking the base channel. Its upgrades add
movement speed during the channel, shorten cooldown and extend duration, then allow full
movement and ability use while adding a max-
health-based heal. Group close enough to benefit, but do not walk into concentrated fire just to include one more ally.
Singularity pulls nearby enemies, stuns them and deals
spirit damage over time. Its upgrades increase radius, channel duration and
damage based on enemy maximum
health. The channel can be disrupted; the opportunity depends on who can stop
Dynamo and whether allies can follow.
Choose
Kinetic Pulse points when your lane partner can use repeated knockups and the later bullet-resistance reduction. Invest in Aurora when sustaining nearby allies through repeated exchanges is the immediate problem. Favor
Quantum Entanglement range or cooldown when positioning and rescues are decisive; its final tier is a significant investment. Upgrade
Singularity when your team can make use of the larger area or longer control. This is a decision framework, not a fixed ability order.
Save an ally with Quantum Entanglement
The useful question is where both heroes will reappear, not just whether the teleport reaches an ally. Communicate the direction, stand near the teammate you intend to bring, and use the alternate cast to move toward cover or friendly support. A teammate outside the ally range will not be brought along; check the current indicator and key binding. The normal cast is useful for moving yourself, but does not automatically carry the team.
Before an ally save: Is your teammate close enough, have you selected the alternate cast, and is the destination safer for both of you? A self-cast moves
Dynamo alone.
| Situation | First option | Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Ally needs distance from a threat | Alternate Quantum cast toward safety | The ally must be nearby and the destination must be safe. |
| Allies can remain together after a trade | Rejuvenating Aurora |
|
| A diver reaches your teammate | Kinetic Pulse |
The knockup creates an opportunity, not a guaranteed escape. |
For example, if a laning partner is being focused near an exposed corner, move close enough and aim the alternate cast toward a safer side of that corner. After reappearing, use Aurora if both of you can remain close enough and the pressure allows it. A poor destination can simply move both players into another enemy’s line of fire. Older guides describe a weapon reload and fire-rate bonus on reappearance; Valve removed those effects, so plan around the current teleport and
stamina restoration instead.
Coordinate Singularity and follow-up
Engage with support
- Tell teammates which target or area you intend to contest. Check that at least one ally is close enough to act on the control.
- Approach from cover and identify an enemy who could interrupt you or
damage you while their teammates are caught. - Use
Singularity when the target is reachable and the team can follow. A single priority enemy can justify the cooldown if the resulting advantage matters. - After the channel, use
Kinetic Pulse or your weapon when appropriate and move toward allies if the fight turns against you.
Should I save
Singularity until several enemies group? Not necessarily. A single priority target can justify it if allies can follow and stopping that target matters. Hold it if you would be isolated or the team cannot act.
If an enemy remains free
This is a practical sequence, not a guaranteed
combo. An unpulled enemy may interrupt you or focus you during the channel. If that threat is ready, choose an entry closer to allies or wait for a safer opening; keep Pulse and Aurora available for the next exchange.
Peel for an ally
When an attacker commits to a teammate,
Kinetic Pulse can create a short window for the ally to move or fire back. If that is not enough and you can reach a safer destination, use the alternate Quantum cast to bring the teammate with you. Heal with Aurora when nearby allies can stay in its area. Reserve
Singularity for a threat your team can exploit; do not leave a vulnerable teammate alone merely to hunt a larger group.
Lane and the rest of the match
In lane, secure
souls and communicate with your partner before using Pulse aggressively. A knockup is more useful when the partner has a firing angle; use the opportunity to contest the wave or force a safer trade. If both players are losing
health, stay close enough for Aurora while respecting enemy pressure.
Healing over time does not guarantee survival through a burst.
Keep earning
souls from safe waves while staying close enough to assist allies. Preserve Quantum when a save is likely. Aurora and Pulse can help a fight even when
Singularity is unavailable.
At an objective, stand where allies can reach you and where you can see the enemy’s approach. If opponents spread out, protect your team with
healing and Pulse. When they commit, communicate and take an opening your team can use; a pull does not guarantee a finish.

For laning pressure,
Kinetic Pulse and weapon purchases can help you contribute between heals. For a rescue-oriented game,
healing and positioning tools may matter more. A defensive purchase can be the right next item if you are focused before your team can act. See adapting builds for broader purchase decisions.
Difficult situations and common errors
Against a close-range initiator such as
Abrams or
Mo & Krill, stay within helping distance of the teammate likely to be targeted, but avoid clustering where the whole team can be controlled together. Pulse can buy time; alternate Quantum may move nearby allies if you can cast and reach a safer location. Do not assume it can be activated through every disabling effect.
Against ranged pressure such as
Vindicta, use cover and preserve a route to your allies rather than crossing open ground for a speculative pull. Watch enemy control and
healing reduction when choosing whether to channel or sustain a fight. A common mistake is self-casting Quantum while expecting to carry an ally.
