The minimap shows an overhead view for navigation, allied positions and enemies revealed to the player or teammates. In spectator mode the Archmother side is north and the Hidden King side south by default. A revealed player remains visible for approximately two seconds after the revealing action ends.

Reveal rules

A player is revealed by shooting enemy troopers or defensive structures, including a structure unable to see or return fire, or by being targeted or shot by enemy troopers or structures. An enemy hero also reveals them within roughly 50–60 m if the line between hero centers is unobstructed. Leaning exposes only the torso and does not count as that line of sight. At just under light-melee range, proximity reveals a hero even when the opponent faces away, provided no vision blocker intervenes. Activating Mirage’s Djinn’s Mark reveals its target.

The following do not reveal a player: standing near troopers that are not targeting or shooting them; using abilities or items on enemy heroes or troopers; being targeted or shot by an enemy hero beyond about 50–60 m; enemy troopers riding a nearby zipline; shooting summons such as Graves’ Ghouls or Deadheads or deployables such as McGinnis’s Mini Turrets; or being hit by summons or deployables. The last case does show the victim’s portrait in the summoner’s HUD.

Invisibility and exceptions

Veil Walker, Shadow Weave and Haze’s Smoke Bomb can prevent reveal. Shooting, using abilities or coming close to an enemy hero with unobstructed line of sight can break invisibility; Haze may use items and abilities during Smoke Bomb without breaking it or revealing herself. Buildings and objectives do not break invisibility or reveal the player. Graves’ Ghouls pursue invisible players but do not explode on them. Calico cannot be revealed on the minimap during Ava even when shot by troopers, Guardians or Walkers. Djinn’s Mark can reveal an invisible enemy. Stalker grants vision through walls but does not reveal the target on the team’s minimap.
