Nurse Harrow works at the Marble Hill Possession Ward. Her apparent reason for joining the ritual is to help New Yorkers; she may also want to exceed her limits and relieve the burden of carrying patients’ pain. She stores that pain in her medical bag and redistributes it where it can do less harm. Her work with dangerous magic demands care and attention.
A shared mentor taught Harrow and Edmund Volker, a Belgian practitioner stationed at Lost Whisper.
Seven implies he killed Volker during his escape.
Rat King and the
Soul Urn associate Harrow with something umbral, apparently connected to her bag; its exact meaning is unknown.
Harrow is stern, direct and intolerant of disobedience, jokes and small talk. She distrusts arrogance, takes her professional ethics seriously and remembers patients and symptoms. Her care can be severe, and patients differ in their assessment of her treatment. She speaks with a British Received Pronunciation accent.
Appearance
Harrow is tall, with dark red hair in a bun, a white streak, orange eyes and rimless half-frame glasses. Her nurse’s outfit combines a mint-striped dress, apron, medical armband, cap, gloves, boots and a high-collared cape with an eye motif. A chatelaine carries medical tools, keys, a vial and a clock. Her black Gladstone bag has a reactive orange eye and tooth-like zippers. Her syringe gun’s fluid changes from orange to green for
Healing Needles; collecting leeches makes facial veins more prominent. During
Lurking Terrors her clothing darkens, accents turn crimson, the cape eye glows and her hair becomes white before the usual colors return.
Relationships
Harrow recognizes
Seven’s power; he threatens her and implies he killed her friend Volker. She remembers Nicholas Tsai,
Violet’s childhood friend and former patient.
Violet compares Harrow to an art professor she loved and feared, while Harrow sees
Violet as talented but undisciplined.

Viscous and
the Cube’s
healing properties and would like him as an intern. She distrusts
Kelvin’s undead condition and role in his friends’ deaths;

Paradox Organization’s Le Champignon de Lazarus to save lives. Harrow and
Celeste dislike each other. Harrow respects
Warden’s discipline,
Dynamo’s intellect and
Haze’s professional dedication, although she thinks
Dynamo coddles students.
Victor fears becoming her patient but respects her authority; she is wary of
the Doorman’s power.
Baba dislikes her and finds her reminiscent of Mildred;
