Midboss, also called Mid Boss or Temple Guardian, is a neutral Haunt in the central underground pit. It is present from the start of the match. Broadway entrances bear Rejuvenator signs, which glow when it has spawned; its minimap symbol is golden while it is alive.

Combat and scaling

Midboss attacks only heroes inside the pit and can only be damaged by players inside it. Its weapon-damage beam targets the nearest player in the pit. A regenerating shield prevents health damage until depleted. The source gives a starting shield value of 35 HP and scaling of 5 HP per minute. At 25% health it roars to alert both teams.

The following values are those displayed by the captured wiki revision; they are not increased again for the October 30 patch. The announcement reports 20% increases to base health and health gained per minute, but the snapshot does not establish independently whether its dynamic values have all updated.

Statistic Value
Base health 15,600
Health gained per minute after spawn 234
Health regeneration 15 HP/s
Bullet resist 15%
Spirit resist 0%
Beam damage 20
Beam damage per second 100
Range 38 m

The official October 30, 2026 update says resistance reductions are only half as effective against Midboss.

Rewards and respawn

The killing team receives 1,500 souls plus 25 per minute and two permanent buffs per player. Three Rejuvenator crystals descend over 7.5 seconds. Either team may claim each after it lands with a heavy melee; each grants a team credit and fully heals the claimant. The credits last three minutes and each eligible player can consume one to revive in place after three seconds with full health. See Rejuvenator for the full rules.

Midboss respawns seven minutes after its first death, six after its second, and five after its third and later deaths. A roar and herald announcement mark the respawn. The minimap icon fills as the timer runs; Tab displays the exact remaining time. The damage report calls it Temple Guardian; the location was called Center Temple in Neon Prime. Steam Game Recorder calls the unit Haunt MidBoss.
