Radiant Regeneration loses healing as Healbane gains diminishing-return stacking
The item changes reduce cast-based sustain and allow overlapping
Healbane effects.
Radiant Regeneration’s heal on ability cast has fallen from 65 to 40, and it now triggers only while the user is in combat. The October 30 patch also allows
Healbane effects from multiple sources to
stack, with diminishing returns.
The changes appear in Valve’s item update, with the numerical entries also reproduced in the Wiki’s item section.
Less healing per cast, more scope for overlapping anti-heal
Radiant Regeneration’s listed cast heal drops by 25, or approximately 38.5%, before
scaling. Its
boon
scaling for that heal falls from 1.7 to 1.4, and its regeneration
scaling from
Spirit Damage falls from 0.35 to 0.25. The combat restriction also removes out-of-combat casts as a way to trigger that particular heal.
Healbane previously did not
stack from multiple sources. Extra applications can now contribute, but diminishing returns mean their effects cannot simply be added together. The patch gives no stacking formula, so it does not support a precise combined reduction percentage.
Healbane’s heal on a hero kill also changes from 275 to 170 plus 3 per
Boon. That is a
scaling change rather than a fixed reduction at every stage of a match.
These are reasons to reassess
healing and anti-heal purchases. They do not, by themselves, prove that a particular build has become ineffective or that its win rate has fallen.
