Crouching is available to every hero; the default duck key is Ctrl. A crouch nearly immediately reduces speed to 4.8 m/s, so tapping it can cancel momentum before a direction change. The Crouching source says that above 8.9 m/s (350 u/s), the input produces a slide instead.

Crouch gliding

Crouch gliding uses repeated short slides while moving fast enough to slide. The dedicated technique page gives a threshold of at least 10 m/s or 376 u/s; movement or sprint speed items can help reach it. While moving at that speed, repeatedly press crouch, allowing each slide to continue briefly rather than spamming the key. The changing posture and head position can make the hero harder to hit, while excessively rapid inputs reduce speed.

Slides grant infinite ammunition. To fire while crouch gliding, press fire during each slide and release it between slides; holding fire causes the source’s described M1 lockout. The two source pages give different slide thresholds (350 and 376 u/s), so both are reported here rather than treated as equivalent values.
